The Port Walk
A place for strolling, viewing the Bay, and observing the historic buildings, The Port Walk offers a unique opportunity for pedestrians to enjoy the Embarcadero. Accessible by ramps, it provides visitors with an unconcealed and safely lit promenade from which to view the Bay without visually interfering with the tenants behind. At the intersection of the Port Walk and Pier 3, the path is divided, in one direction, leading toward the historic Ferry Boat Santa Rosa, and circumnavigating the eastern extremity of the Pier and continuing into the Bayside History Walk. The Port Walk will be utilized for temporary and ceremonial berthing for large visiting yachts.
Pier 7 Plaza
This area will contain public seating for the café at Pier 5 and will be an extension of Pier 7 where the public may choose to fish or take a stroll out into the Bay.

The Bayside History Walk
Featuring plaques, images and models, The Bayside History Walk will tell the story of the restored historic buildings. A portion of the walk area is covered by a glass skylight and will contain presentations of public interest. It will pass between the historic lobby of Pier 1½ and the old Delta Lounge slated for use as an upscale seafood restaurant. This walkway ends at Pier 1 where the Port of San Francisco's new offices are found.
Herb Caen Way
A continuation of the 'Promenade', the walkway along the Embarcadero which extends along the waterfront past the Ferry Building, Herb Caen Way will be lined with street furniture, covered waiting areas for carpool pick-up and information kiosks. These elements along with café seating and historic markers create a pleasant walking environment for pedestrians passing along San Francisco's newest scenic boulevard.
