Three Bidders Respond to Port's Piers 1½, 3 & 5 - September 21, 2000

The Port of San Francisco has received three proposals in response to its Request for Proposals (RFP) to develop the Piers 1½-3-5 Preservation Project at the northern end of the Ferry Building Waterfront.

Ships, subs and offices compete to dock at piers - November 24, 2000
A trio of development groups are competing for the right to build offices, to open eateries and to dock boats at Piers 1.5 to 5 in San Francisco.

S.F. Port recommends $37.2 million pier plan - January 09, 2001
The San Francisco Port staff has recommended a $37.2 million plan for Piers 1.5 to 5 that includes four restaurants, docking for boats, offices and an expanded port walk. The staff recommended that the port enter exclusive negotiating rights with Jefferson Co. and Putnam Waterfront Partners for the piers.

Port Commission Approves LDDA/Lease - November 03, 2003
After 2½ years of negotiation, the Port Commission approved the Lease Disposition and Development Agreement and Lease for the historic rehabilitation and redevelopment of Piers 1½, 3 and 5. The Piers project, coined by Toby Levine as the "jewel of San Francisco," has been approved as having achieved all of its planning objectives set forth in the Port's Request for Proposal.
