San Francisco Waterfront Partners, LLC (SFWP) is a partnership between the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) and Pacific Waterfront Partners, LLC (PWP).
CalSTRS is the largest teachers' retirement system in the United States. CalSTRS' primary responsibility is to provide retirement related benefits and services to teachers in public schools from kindergarten through community college. CalSTRS is responsible for the determination and payment of benefits to members, retirees, and beneficiaries, and for the distribution of information to all members, employers, and other interested groups. The three basic benefits provided by CalSTRS are service retirement, survivor and disability benefits.
The redevelopment and historic renovation of The Piers was managed by local development partner, Pacific Waterfront Partners, LLC.
