San Francisco Waterfront Partners, LLC (SFWP) is a partnership between the California State Teachers' Retirement System (CalSTRS) and Pacific Waterfront Partners, LLC (PWP).

 

CalSTRS is the largest teachers' retirement system in the United States. CalSTRS had a total membership of approximately 688,000 and assets of $96.7 billion as of June 2002. CalSTRS' primary responsibility is to provide retirement related benefits and services to teachers in public schools from kindergarten through community college. CalSTRS is responsible for the determination and payment of benefits to members, retirees, and beneficiaries, and for the distribution of information to all members, employers, and other interested groups. The three basic benefits provided by CalSTRS are service retirement, survivor and disability benefits.

Pacific Waterfront Partners, LLC was founded in 1999 for the purpose of developing The Piers.

 





Simon Snellgrove is Managing Director and a Principal of Pacific Waterfront Partners. He has over 30 years experience in real estate development and asset management. Prior to co-founding PWP, Mr. Snellgrove was Senior Vice President of The O'Connor Group with responsibility for international shopping center investment and client services.

 

From 1990 to 1993, Mr. Snellgrove was President of U.S. Lend Lease and Lend Lease International, focusing on the development of global real estate investment Companies. During this time he was responsible for making numerous real estate investments both directly and indirectly in the U.S. and Europe, and for forming various real estate investment Companies for global real estate diversification.

 

Primus Infrastructure, LLC serves as the co-development manager and is an experienced San Francisco development management company. They are most well known for their joint venture with Wilson Cornerstone, the developers of the Ferry Building and for its role in the management of such waterfront properties as Pac Bell Park, the new Ferry Terminal and the like.
